Changes to telephone numbers

From 28 January 2026, contacts with owner data must have a telephone number when you send Contact CREATE and Contact UPDATE requests.

Notice  

  • You will no longer be able to specify dummy telephone numbers, i.e. telephone numbers that follow this pattern: ‘+49.000000’. This is no longer possible.

  • From April 2027, you may receive a request to verify domains for which the owner data does not include a telephone number.

We also carry out syntax checks for telephone numbers. If your telephone number is not structured as described here, Information on the Phone Number, you will receive an error message.
